Our programs

Turning maternal health strategy into action

The Mansaray Foundation (TMF) works alongside rural communities and health facilities in Sierra Leone to strengthen maternal and child healthcare through practical, community-centered programs.

Our programs are designed to address barriers that mothers and families experience throughout the maternal-health journey — from pregnancy and nutrition to facility delivery, health education, clinical capacity, and follow-up after birth.

Each program is part of a larger goal

Strengthen the systems surrounding mothers so they can access safer, more timely, and more respectful care.

How our programs connect

  2. Understand her pregnancy

Antenatal engagement and ultrasound where appropriate

  3. Prepare her for delivery

Safe Birth Plans and the TMF Safe Motherhood Birthing Bucket

  4. Connect her to skilled care

Facility delivery, emergency referral, and transportation

  5. Strengthen the facility

Medical supplies, equipment, infrastructure, and partnerships

  6. Follow mother & baby

Postnatal follow-up, referral, and future maternal mental-health work

From programs to system change

A program can meet an immediate need. A stronger health system can sustain the change.

TMF's programs address immediate barriers while helping us identify deeper challenges within rural maternal healthcare.

This is how individual programs become part of a larger strategy for sustainable maternal healthcare.

  • Better equipment.
  • Better maternal-health spaces.
  • Stronger healthcare workers.
  • Reliable emergency transportation.
  • Better postnatal follow-up.
  • Stronger local leadership.
  • Better data.
