Help Close the Distance to Emergency Care

TMF is raising $18,000 to strengthen emergency referral and medical transportation between rural communities, partner health facilities, and appropriate higher-level care.

Closing the distance to appropriate care

Obstetric emergencies require timely care. Distance, road conditions, cost, and vehicle availability can delay a mother's journey from a rural community or health facility to appropriate higher-level care.

TMF is working toward a dependable referral and transportation pathway that can also support outreach teams and supplies moving into communities.

  • Emergency referral from community to facility
  • Routine antenatal visits that would otherwise be missed
  • Transport for outreach teams, supplies, and medicines
  • Postnatal follow-up for high-risk mothers
