Priority campaign 01

Help Bring Ultrasound and Diagnostic Services Closer to Mothers

TMF's $18,000 Ultrasound & Diagnostic Services campaign goal supports the purchase of two ultrasound machines as part of TMF's broader diagnostic and clinical-capacity work, alongside compatible technology, deployment, training, maintenance, and ongoing clinical support.

Why Ultrasound and Diagnostic Services Matter

Ultrasound provides clinicians with important information throughout pregnancy. It can help assess gestational age, fetal position, multiple pregnancies, placental location, and other findings that may require closer monitoring or further evaluation.

In rural communities, access to this information can strengthen clinical decision-making. Midwives and Community Health Officers (CHOs) can use ultrasound findings alongside routine maternal assessments to plan appropriate care, identify when additional evaluation may be needed, and support timely referral to a higher-level facility when necessary.

Through this campaign, TMF is raising $18,000 to purchase two ultrasound machines, one for Kambombeh Community Health Post and one for Panlap Health Centre. The campaign will also support the technology, deployment, training, maintenance, and ongoing clinical support needed to integrate ultrasound services into maternal care at both facilities.

  • Supports dating of a pregnancy and estimated delivery timing
  • Helps identify the baby's position and multiple pregnancies
  • Aids clinicians in assessing the placenta and amniotic fluid
  • Informs earlier referral decisions for higher-risk pregnancies
