what this can do in Sierra Leone:
Ensures a brand new austere medical transport for 1 of our clinics - a piece of equipment that can respond, provide timely transport thereby reducing delay in accessing care and can be used for health promotion outreach in the hard-to-reach villages. A medical transport vehicle would enable the healthcare workers to take the portable ultrasound machine to do the villages and performs scans on women who find it difficult to access the clinics. This is taking a crucial health care tool to the rural pregnant woman’s doorstep.
Feeding Program
As a foundation, we understand that poor access to care is a major contributor to maternal deaths in rural Sierra Leone. Changing the mindset of the community to discourage home deliveries that lack skilled birth attendants in favor of delivering their precious babies at the clinic with qualified medical professionals is a mountain we are willing to climb. The weekly feeding program is the first step to tackling undernutrition and access to care in Kabombeh Village and has increased antenatal visits by 6-fold.
The feeding program initiative is currently conducted 5 days a week and caters to pregnant women to encourage and incentivize access care, educate them on proper nutrition, and teach them how to prepare nutritious meals for a healthy pregnancy. It also caters to lactating mothers and children under 5 in our efforts to address undernutrition in the community. Since its inception we have fed over 5500 women and children under 5.
Support the feeding of a rural pregnant woman today!
the gift of a heartbeat
Sierra Leone has less far less ultrasounds to match the child bearing age and pregnant women. The rural areas are at an extreme disadvantage to access this modern quality of care for pregnant women. The lack of this key resource has resulted in numerous stillbirths and emergency cesarean sections due to attempted breached deliveries. Both have led to neonatal and most times maternal deaths. While we have equipped two clinics with portable ultrasound machines, we want to expand this quality healthcare tool to 4 more clinics.

Physical Goods
In order to make an impact in the maternal health crisis in Sierra Leone and abroad, medical supplies are a huge need of ours. From diagnostic equipment to garbage cans. Providing proper medical services to these women will ensure a safe and successful maternal outcome.
VOLUNTEER
We need everyone! Clinical educators (physicians, midwives, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, carpenters, welders, plumbers, handymen, and nurses) can help to assist with teaching and testing theory and practical aspects of maternal health; health data specialists to assist with data collection, medical logistics specialists to help with managing the supply chain, outreach coordinators and medical associations.
corporate sponsorship
